Shine Bright: Sun Safety and Skin Health Awareness

As we approach the summer months, it's essential to prioritize sun safety and skin health. Sun Awareness Week, which takes place from May 6th to May 12th, serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of protecting our skin from harmful UV rays. This year, the focus of Sun Awareness Week is on raising awareness of non-melanoma skin cancer, one of the most common types of skin cancer worldwide.

Non-melanoma skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, is highly treatable if detected early. However, prevention is key, and regular skin checks are essential for early detection. During Sun Awareness Week, it's essential to educate ourselves and others about the warning signs of skin cancer and the importance of regular skin examinations. By staying vigilant and proactive about our skin health, we can reduce the risk of developing skin cancer and ensure early detection if any abnormalities arise.

A few years back, we had the privilege of collaborating with Karen Malcolm-Pye, a renowned Beauty Specialist and expert who has appeared on CTV, Global, The Marilyn Dennis Show, and more. Together, we delved into healthy skin care tips to prepare for the summer months. Karen shared cost-effective, at-home skin care routines designed to rejuvenate the skin after winter and reduce the signs of aging. If you missed our collaboration, be sure to check out our video from then, titled "Sun Awareness Week: How To Get Healthy & Glowing Skin For Summer," for valuable insights and practical tips to keep your skin radiant and protected.
